About me...

Humphrey Polepole is the current Director of the Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC), the biggest youth movement in Tanzania with over one hundred youth organizations and over 240 youth enterprise groups. He is a Board Member of Tanzania Coalition on Sustainable Development (TCSD). Polepole is a member of the Civil Society Advisory Committee (UNCSAC) of the United Nations in Tanzania.

He is also a member of the Technical Taskforce Team advising the UN and Government of Tanzania Joint Steering Committee. Humphrey is a chair of the African Youth Panel Steering Committee of the Danish Africa Commission (DAC) and has had the opportunity of addressing High level Meetings of the DAC in Addis Ababa and in Copenhagen Denmark on behalf of African Youth Panel.

Humphrey Polepole has in the past served as a Youth Associate Advisor of the UNEP Tunza Youth Advisory Council. Polepole has also served for two terms as a Board member of the MS-Tanzania (Danish Association for International Cooperation). In 2003 He was selected to join a six people taskforce team that anticipated the future of the sustainable development NGO process in East Africa, being the youngest member of the team.

What I do...

Apart from being an active person within the Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC), Polepole is an Active member of the Civil Society as an Activist. His engagement ranges from Local level advocacy and capacity building to national and international level lobbying and advocacy.

Polepole [As an employee of TYC] has been instrumental in shaping the TYC Programming that takes the nature of facilitating the empowerment of youth NGOs and CBOs through capacity building and Training. In this quest and under his leadership TYC has grown from 10 founding NGOs to over a hundred and a network of over 1000 youth.

Polepole has supervised a number of researches on youth development and enterprise development in Tanzania. Polepole will soon be conducting a research study on the opportunities for youth enterprise development, growth and formalization.

What I would like to become...

Polepole would like to become an educator, a PILOT, an entrepreneur, Civil Servant, God's Servant... for now we'll keep the list short.
